The first thing I noticed when I turned it on is how bright this thing is for a red light. This thing is bright enough for walking outdoors in any terrain, while the low output is just enough for night adapted vision, although the spill becomes almost invisible at a short distance. The throw is also impressive for such a tiny reflector, but the spot might not be wide enough to read star charts and the likes. Astronomers might want to consider the diffused model. |
